Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee was formed as an Ad-Hoc committee by the 2025-2026 SGA Administration to be charged with enhancing communication and engagement between the Student Government Association and the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ student body.
The Outreach Committee will accomplish this charge by promoting SGA initiatives, increasing student awareness and participation in shared governance, and ensuring that student voices are heard, their needs are recognized, and their concerns are effectively addressed.
The Outreach Committee shall be responsible for:
- Developing and executing marketing campaigns and engagement strategies to inform the student body about SGA programs, services, legislation, and events; and
- Building and maintaining relationships with other registered student organizations, fraternity and sorority life organizations, academic departments and programs, administrative offices, community partners, and local, state, federal, and foreign governments; and
- Encouraging participation in shared governance activities like SGA elections, SGA appointment processes, and other student leadership opportunities; and
- Collecting and organizing student feedback through surveys, etc. to inform SGA policy and initiatives; and
- Regularly hosting outreach events like tabling, classroom presentations, town halls, forums, open houses, etc. to engage with the student body; and
- Coordinating volunteering opportunities for events SGA is invited to participate in like New Student Orientations, Texas Western Gold Rush, Miner Welcome, Engage and Thrive Fair, Minerpalooza, Homecoming, Up All Night, etc.; and
- Liaising with the Vice-President of External Affairs for all external communications outside of SGA.
