Texas DMV Offers New ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ License Plate Design

Drivers who want to show off their Miner pride can register for the new ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ license plate. A portion of the fee will return to The University of Texas at El ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ for student scholarships.
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will begin to issue the after the first 200 are pre-ordered.
“Buying a ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ license plate not only shows our ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ pride every day as people drive their cars, but proceeds from this purchase will provide scholarships to many of our students needing financial assistance to attend ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½,” said Heidi Granger, assistant vice president for Student Financial Services who oversees the Office of Scholarships.
ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½’s Division of Marketing and Communications started to work on this project in collaboration with The University of Texas System’s Office of Brand Trademark and Licensing during the fall 2020 semester.
A University committee selected the final design from an initial selection of 21. The division shared the design with the public via social media and 81% of the 1,100 respondents approved it.
