Pandemonium

Formed in August, 1996 as a collaboration between the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Departments of Music, Metallurgy, and Physics, "Pandemonium," under the direction of Professor Larry White, has achieved international recognition through journal articles and performances across the United States and world. Made up of over 30 ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ undergraduate music majors and engineering master's and doctoral students, the group has performed all over the El ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Southwest and in Cancun, Mexico, with trips planned to London, Moscow, and Trinidad/Tobago in the near future. They play to sold-out houses in El ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, and for over 10,000 people at the 1998 "Music Under the Stars" concert at the Chamizal National Memorial.
They have been featured in Science News, Percussive Notes, the El ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Times, and on "Texas Country Reporter," a regional television newsmagazine out of Dallas. Their recently released compact disk, "Millennium Steel," and their previous release, "Music under the Stars," are available from the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Music Office or the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Office on the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Campus. "Pandemonium" is an outgrowth of the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Percussion department, including Marimba and Percussion Ensemble, applied lessons, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Drum Line, and "Pantastic" steel drum ensemble.
