ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Awarded $175,000 NSF Grant

The College of Engineering at The University of Texas at El ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ has been awarded a $174,846 grant from the National Science Foundation.
The project, titled "Building Partnerships and Pathways to Address Engineering Grand Challenges Workshop at The University Texas El ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ in Fall 2009," is under the direction of Dr. Carlos Ferregut, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research in ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½’s College of Engineering.
The grant will be used to fund a workshop focusing on a select group of the National Academy of Engineering's "Grand Challenges for Engineering." It will provide a venue to highlight the research at Hispanic Serving Institutions that will engage a diverse group of researchers.
“This grant will provide the opportunity for ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Engineering faculty to showcase their research and to explore opportunities for partnerships with Tier 1 university faculty and government labs,” said Ferregut. “It will also provide graduate students with opportunities to listen and interact with experts that are addressing the Engineering Grand Challenges Workshop.”
